About me
My name is Paul Menze. I work with people who want to approach psychedelic experiences in a careful, grounded, and meaningful way - and to integrate what they discover into everyday life.
For more than 25 years, I have guided individuals and small groups through psychedelic processes, with a strong focus on preparation, safety, and integration. Since the late 1990s, I have worked with substances such as psilocybin truffles, Salvia Divinorum, ayahuasca, San Pedro, and other plant medicines, primarily in intimate settings that allow for highly personalized guidance.
Working within the legal framework in the Netherlands has made it possible to develop this work responsibly, with attention to ethics, psychological stability, and long-term integration rather than isolated peak experiences.
Professional background
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from Utrecht University, where I specialized in drugs and addictions. During my academic work, I conducted research on the safety of psilocybin and wrote my thesis on the use of ayahuasca in both ritual and therapeutic contexts.
After my studies, I worked in two rehabilitation clinics before opening my private practice in 2005. This clinical background continues to inform my work, particularly when it comes to risk assessment, emotional regulation, and working responsibly with altered states of consciousness.
How my work has evolved
Over the years, my focus has gradually shifted.
While my early work was more clinical and therapeutic, I now primarily support healthy, self-aware individuals who feel that something essential in life has become unclear and who want to explore this consciously and responsibly.
In 2019, I became an accredited Master Coach and expanded my work to include online coaching, making it possible to support people before and after psychedelic experiences, regardless of location.
My approach today
Whether online or in person, my aim is not to promise change, but to create the conditions in which insight, clarity, and orientation can emerge naturally.
This means working at an appropriate pace, respecting individual readiness, and placing strong emphasis on integration - so that what is discovered during a psychedelic experience can be lived and embodied over time.
People who work with me often describe the space as calm, grounded, and non-judgmental - a place where they can slow down, reflect honestly, and reconnect with what matters most.
